Our day trip to Waco also included a visit to the Homestead Heritage farm. Even though it was 100+ degrees, it was a great trip. Those working on the farm stay true to the “old ways”. We had lunch at the restaurant where most of the dishes use ingredients made at the farm. I did feel bad for the blacksmith who was making tools using a 3,000 degree furnace in the 100 DEGREE HEAT wearing jeans and long sleeves! Ugh.
