Every year during the Christmas holidays, Northpark Mall hosts an exhibit of model trains as a benefit fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald House charities. The exhibit has become so popular that the Dallas house now receives almost HALF of its annual operating budget from this event. At $6 per ticket, that is a LOT of tickets!
This year, my wife and I took advantage of a day off from work to visit the trains. Even on a Monday afternoon, the place was crowded. I cannot imagine the man-hours that go into this display. The detail is amazing. The trains travel around recreations of cities from around the country and Dallas is very well represented. If you are in the DFW area, you still have another week to visit and make your donation.
